We know everyone is looking for options to interact with patients in a Non-Face to Face manner during this COVID-19 situation. Our billing and coding teams have aggressively reviewed all options presented by CMS and Commercial payers and determined that we have 3 options:
- EHR Online Communications
- Telephone Calls
- Video Visits
CMS has made some policy changes that loosens the restrictions we had previously had to work under for Telehealth services offered via the Office of Digital Video platform.
During the COVID-19 pandemic emergency state, clinicians are now able to provide an expanded list of CPT codes via interactive audio & video telecommunication methods which we are referring to as Telehealth. When, and if, CMS reverts to the prior restrictions we will alert you.
